Mai Hagiwara is a Japanese pop singer, currently a member of °C-ute and Hello! Project Kids. A Japanese AV star shares her name with Mai (also Hagiwara Mai). However, there is no relation. Her sister tried out for the Hello! Project Kids, but didn't make it.
Is good friends with Okai Chisato.
Mai became a Hello! Project Kid shortly before turning 7 years old, making her the youngest member at the time of joining in Hello! Project's history.
Is the youngest singer to take part in the Kouhaku Uta Gassen at 11 years old, surpassing Kago Ai at 12 years old.
She has stated that Ogawa Makoto and Tanaka Reina are the Hello! Project members she respects the most.
She shares the same birthday as Yajima Maimi, February 7th.

Hagiwara Mai joined Hello! Project after passing the 2002 Hello! Project Kids audition. She is the youngest out of the fifteen Hello! Project Kids and is also the youngest member in °C-ute. As a member of Hello! Project, she has been participated in the groups 4Kids and H.P. All Stars.
It has been recently announced that Hagiwara will take part in a new unit, Kira☆Pika with Morning Musume's Koharu Kusumi. Their first single "Hana o Pūn / Futari wa NS" was released on August 1, 2007.
